Why I chose to support Eastbourne Foodbank

This month our colleagues are participating in an annual spring reward scheme where they can choose a charity for the firm to support.  Today Commercial Property Lawyer, Richard Palmer, explains why he chose Eastbourne Foodbank.

"Foodbanks plug an unnecessary gap in the provision of basic needs of struggling people in a first world country, which is a shameful situation. That gap has been increasing over the last decade. The work of foodbanks, such as Eastbourne Foodbank, in trying to ensure that people in need have enough to eat cannot be underestimated. The impact of Covid has meant that many more people are struggling than they were before, and so their work is even more important, as is the support that people can give to them by making donations of food or money. I have seen first-hand the dedication of the people that work for Eastbourne Foodbank and as a result I know that they are a cause that local people should be supporting."
