Victoria Aked

Family Law Solicitor

Victoria is a solicitor within our Family Law department based in our Hastings office. She advises clients on a variety of matters and, in particular, is regularly instructed on matters involving domestic abuse.

She is able to advise in disputes regarding children and for both applicants and respondents in matters involving protective orders such as Non-molestation and Occupation Orders. Victoria is experienced in dealing with matters “without notice”, ensuring both children and parties are protected from harassment and risk of harm.

Victoria is a compassionate and pragmatic lawyer who is able to offer a reasoned perspective to her clients. Victoria is sensitive to the emotional needs of her clients as well as conscious of the additional anxiety that it experienced by her clients when faced with recalling abusive events or having to interact, albeit indirectly, with their abusers. Victoria understands the insidious nature of domestic abuse and is able to explain to her clients the evidential and procedural requirements of the Court in resolving matters where there have been allegations of abuse.

Victoria is able to assist clients in reaching an amicable conclusion to their matters without the need to begin Court proceedings and, is equally proficient in guiding her clients step-by-step through contested proceedings. Victoria’s focus from the outset to conclusion of a matter is an outcome that is in the best interests of the children.

Victoria read English and European Laws at the University of Essex and later went on to be Called to the Bar in 2010 following completion of the Bar Vocation Course. Victoria completed the Legal Practice Course, qualifying with a Distinction, in 2017 and was admitted as a Solicitor following her period of training in 2019. Victoria joined Heringtons in 2020.

Victoria is a keen runner and runs with her local club several times per week in addition to completing Park Run on Saturday mornings. She is currently in training for her first half marathon. Victoria enjoys attending Spanish evening classes and looks forward to visiting cities in Spain in the hope of practising her language skills - and sampling the local tapas! On Friday evenings Victoria becomes "Snowy Owl" and assists at her local Brownies unit.
