Lorna Mills
Working closely with our Vulnerable Client Services Manager, Tracey May, Lorna has extensive knowledge and experience in supporting vulnerable adults in the community and within care homes, completing and reviewing care plans, safeguarding, DOLs, mental capacity, enabling choice and promoting independence.
BACKGROUND:
Lorna has worked in Health and Social Care for over 20 years, She has a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care; Adult Residential Management, which enabled her to become a Registered Manager working in care homes for vulnerable adults. Lorna has a great understanding and empathy for vulnerable people and has supported many individuals through the care pathway, ensuring they have a good experience.
OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE:
Lorna is an active National Trust member and very much enjoys visiting grand historical house to see "how the other half lived"!
She loves spending spending time with family and friends, especially her many nieces and nephews and is described as the "fun" Auntie! Time at home is spent with her family of cats and she says they are "high maintenance"!
Whilst at home you can find Lorna in the kitchen experimenting with new dishes she has discovered from holidays. A firm favourite now is Baklava, and says her skills have improved somewhat as the first few were firmly stuck to the pan!
Although Lorna says she doesn't have the time or the patience to read books (unless she is on holiday in the sun with no care in the world) she does "cheat" and listens to books on Audible whilst at home or out walking - anything she says to help get some steps in!
