Charlotte Hustwayte
  • "Charlotte was a great help at court.  She is very level headed and I think she will make a good solicitor in the future."

Charlotte Hustwayte

Family Law Solicitor

Charlotte is a Solicitor in the Litigation department and assists with all family matters including cases which involve domestic abuse and require protective orders such as Non Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders, disputes which effect children and disputes arising from the breakdown of a relationship, whether married or not.

Charlotte regularly assists recently separated parents to negotiate their way to agreeing the best arrangements for their children during the most difficult of times. Charlotte is often the voice of reason during times when emotions are heightened and always focuses on the best interests of the children involved. She enjoys meeting with clients and being able to build a rapport with them.

Charlotte's colleagues say she is a confident individual who is determined to get the best outcome for the families she helps.

Charlotte is an "Ask Me" Ambassador for the Women's Aid charity, and as such is trained to respond to disclosures of domestic abuse and knows where to signpost people for help and support. This training has helped her when dealing with cases involving domestic abuse. Charlotte is also a member of Resolution, the nationwide organisation of family lawyers who promote “a constructive approach to family issues and considers the needs of the whole family, in particular the best interests of children”. She believes that processes such as mediation and negotiations can encourage people to come to a fair and reasonable solution that they will be happy with moving forward and avoid the expense of court proceedings.

Charlotte obtained an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Brighton where she studied Law with Business and has now completed the Legal Practice Course with the University of Law. Charlotte qualified as a Solicitor on 2 January 2019.

Charlotte enjoys spending time with friends and family and walking her two dogs in the countryside.
