Liz explains why she selected the charity Education Support as part of our annual spring rewards initiative.
"I have chosen to support Education Support a charity set up to focus on the mental health of all those working in schools - teaching and support staff.
Throughout April the charity is calling for people to sign up to participate in their Strides Against Stress initiative - the aim being to walk or run every day, with those taking part covering a mile a day (or 30 miles across the month of April) to support teachers and school staff facing a mental health crisis.
Across the nation, many professions are under pressure as a result of the pandemic but school staff have often found themselves to be in a unique position, facing challenges they had never even considered, supporting children educationally and mentally often at a personal cost to their own health. The charity say that 84% of education staff describe themselves as "stressed-out"; so supporting a charity that can look after their mental health is vital."
Education Support will be receiving a £250 donation from Heringtons.
