Trainee Solicitor Opportunities

Do you want an exciting and fulfilling career in law in the sunniest part of the English coast?

If so, join us on a Heringtons Solicitors deckchair!

We are a long established, yet forward-thinking law firm based in beautiful East Sussex.  We have offices (mostly within a stone’s throw of the beach) close to mainline stations in Hastings, Eastbourne, Battle, Bexhill and Rye, employing nearly a hundred staff. We are able to offer a good work-life balance and a relaxed and friendly working environment.  We take pride in embracing equality and diversity amongst our workforce.

We have an excellent track record of developing Trainee Solicitors to meet the growing future requirements of a highly successful law firm.  We offer mentoring by lawyers experienced at training in Residential and Commercial Property, Corporate, the Court of Protection and Vulnerable Clients, Will Trusts and Probate, Dispute Resolution and Family Law.

There are many post-qualification opportunities with all three of our most recently qualified trainees choosing to remain with the firm post-qualification.  When asked some words to describe us they said “brilliant” “inclusive” “stimulating” “fun” and “flexible”.  We’ll take that.

This September we are looking to take on up to three Paralegals ideally with strong local links, possessing a good law degree and having completed or nearly completed their LPC. Applicants with good inter-personal skills, energy and enthusiasm will, if successful in the Paralegal role be offered a training contract (usually shortened to 18 months).  A successful, hardworking applicant can thus become a qualified solicitor in under two years.  Paid study leave will form part of the employment package.

If you are interested in applying please email your CV to hr@heringtons.com by 30 June 2023 together with a covering note/letter explaining your reasons for wanting to apply and any connection to the location of our offices.

Before applying please note that in the event of a successful initial shortlist you must be available to attend a one day assessment interview with other selected candidates on Tuesday 18 July 2023 at a central Hastings venue.
